The Panama City Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRA) in Millville and Downtown North are partnering with World Changers and First Baptist Church in Panama City to help homeowners in the CRA areas make improvements to their homes.
The CRA is currently accepting applications from homeowners in the Millville and Downtown North CRAs.
World Changers is designed for youth based mission projects among Southern Baptists and other evangelical churches. This year, more than 220 volunteers will be coming to Panama City to help from June 24 - 29, 2019. The work they perform is free to the owners of the homes. The CRAs will purchase all materials for these projects.
Residents wishing to apply must own and occupy a home located in the Millville or Downtown North CRA. The property must be safe and manageable for volunteers to work on. Repairs are generally limited to basic home improvements and painting that can be accomplished by unskilled and semi-skilled volunteers. Priority will be given to exterior improvements; although, some interior improvements may be possible. Homeowners will be notified by World Changers as to whether or not their house has been selected by a volunteer group.
Applications may be picked up at City Hall, which is located at 501 Harrison Avenue, or printed through this link. The deadline to submit applications is June 7, 2019.
Anyone with questions on the program, may contact Toni Shamplain at (850) 215-3872, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
