The Quality of Life Department for the City of Panama City is offering ukulele lessons for both adults and youth (8 - 11 years old). In the 6-week class, you will learn the basics of playing the ukulele, which will incorporate reading music and identify notes and pitch.

The classes will be held weekly on Monday nights between September 30th and November 4th. Adults will attend between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Youth classes will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. All classes will be held at the Frank Nelson Clubhouse, which is located at 4105 W. 23rd Street.

Leitz Music has agreed to give any member of the class a discount on ukuleles, straps, buttons, and cases. They have a bundle pack that includes a ukulele, case, strap, button and tuner. It would benefit you to have your own instrument and equipment. However, if you do not wish to purchase a ukulele, you will be able to rent one for the 6-week class period. It will require a deposit of $60 before the class starts. When the class ends and your ukulele is turned in and in the same condition, you will receive your deposit back.
