If you look around Panama City at all of the businesses that survived the hurricane you will notice a common trend. "For Hire" signs are everywhere. You cannot find a place to rent in Panama City. Half of the population of Panama City has left and may not return.
To rebuild Panama City you will need to start with low-income housing. As it stands even with over 80% of all commercial buildings being destroyed, businesses cant find workers. As we continue to clean up the mess we need to provide incentives to developers and builders to repair existing low income housing and build more ASAP.
Secondly, we need to provide incentives such as interest free loans and tax breaks to new and current business owners to build and rebuild in Panama city.
Lastly, there needs to be a new building code requiring all buildings be built to withstand Category 5 Hurricanes.

We need public announcements to remind drivers of cyclists on the road and intentionally swerving into cyclists is very DANGEROUS.

I was horrified by the behavior exhibited on the beaches this year during Spring Break. Its been bad n the past, but this year was horrendous! Average families who wanted to enjoy spring break with their kids at the beach could not even do that much!! This is ridiculous. Why was the entire beach taken over? Drunken antics, gang rapes, and I am guessing many of those kids weren't even old enough to be drinking and yet where was the police presence? Why wasn't there barricaded areas to keep control of the area? I have been to many many beach resorts all around the world with fun, party atmospheres and they all have 1 thing in common! Barricades, a bouncer or three, and security!! The raucous crowd had their area and were being supervised and CARDED and the families have their areas and there is security all over the place, with tents and booths set up and life guards. I am very disappointed in this city for the way this Spring Break Went and I say we can od better next year!!

To whom it may concern,
Quite often my wife and I go downtown to eat lunch and we do notice there is a problem with the parking. I recognize that the businesses want to be able to expand onto the sidewalk area which more room is needed. Without taking away any parking places and maybe even adding some, I got a suggestion that you may want to consider. Take Harrison Avenue and make it one-way from North going South, from 6th Street Down to Beach Drive. Also, continue using angle parking like it is already but have it all pointed in one direction on both sides of the street and fill in some of the gaps. I hope that you will consider my suggestion for future development of down town.

There is a clear issue of deep resentment and discrimination issues located within the Panama City Soccer league as well as corruption in the fact that players are allowed to officiate games in the same league. The soccer community is one that is heavily declining with the introduction of the poisonous group that carries out extreme measures of bias to people of the same ethnicity. The community is primarily made of up Central and some South Americans which has contributed to pushing away the base of the local soccer which has brought me up to professional and collegiate level of the game. The game has turned into rough and tumble with high chances of grave injuries all caused by this toxic group of players. The officiating has completely been aimed at tearing down teams that are not of Hispanic origin while benefiting those that are. This is a serious issue and one that also includeds degradation of women (Hispanic and non) who come to support the men playing against the favored teams

My family, as well as my husbands family, live in Fountain. 99% of the roads are not paved. There are plenty of people who suffer serious car damage daily. There are statistics saying that less than 1% of the roads in America are dirt. It seems to me Bay County should be ashamed at the amount of dirt roads people are forced to deal with while roads "in town" are paved over and over. Also, Tram Rd. Off of star. Ave., why are we grating and pouring more clay after every rain? People who live on these roads often get trapped because of the lack of safe roads. I beg some one to look at this issue and help people, who have been made promises for 30 years that these roads would be paved just at least one time!
