City Hall
Overview
Hearings by the special magistrate are a quasi-judicial arm for the code enforcement process. The hearings main purposes are to hear cases, prescribe penalties, and achieve compliance with the city code. The majority of the cases heard are for demolition of unsafe structures, lot cleanup, abandoned or junked vehicles, sign violations, and cutting protected trees without a permit.
Hearings before the code enforcement special magistrate are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. with the exception of November and December. All hearings are held at City Hall in Room 010. The city's code enforcement section prepares the agenda for the code enforcement meetings. For information concerning code enforcement agenda items, please call the code enforcement division at (850) 691-4593.
