Firefighter Employment
Firefighting in today's society is both challenging and exciting. If you're interested in becoming a Panama City Firefighter, here are the qualifications: You must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or a GED, have a valid Florida driver's license and be a State of Florida Certified Firefighter.
Applicants also must have uncorrected vision of 20/100 and 20/40 or eyesight corrected to 20/40 and 20/20. Applicants must also be able to pass a Physical Performance Evaluation.
Before being hired, prospective employees must pass an extensive medical examination required by the City of Panama City and Florida's Bureau of Fire Standards and Training.
Pre-employment drug testing is required. Applicants must be drug-free and a nonuser of tobacco and tobacco products.
Prospective employees must never have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor, nor pled nolo contendere to any charge of a felony.

Police Officer Employment
Police work in today's society is both challenging and exciting. If you're interested in becoming a Panama City Police Officer, here are the minimum requirements for employment as a police officer in the State of Florida. You must be at least 19 years old. You must be a citizen of the United States and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. You must never have received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. You have to be fingerprinted. Your fingerprints will be processed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the FBI. You must have good moral character, complete an Affidavit of Applicant Form (CJSTC-68), successfully complete a background investigation, complete basic recruit training, and comply with continuing training or education requirements.
