Public Parking

The City of Panama City is taking proactive steps to improve safety and clarity around parking in downtown Panama City and St. Andrews.

In an effort to address ongoing concerns and enhance the overall experience for residents, visitors, and businesses, new parking restrictions have been identified for highly trafficked pedestrian and vehicle areas. Additionally, the City has outlined public parking locations in both areas, making longer-term parking easier to access.

Large metal signs will be printed and installed throughout the downtown Panama City and St. Andrews area. These signs will be strategically placed to help drivers better understand parking limits and to prevent common violations that can compromise safety.

The focus of this initiative is not on penalizing drivers, but on ensuring safe and accessible streets for everyone. While our Police Department continues to show grace regarding 2- and 3-hour parking limits, they are paying close attention to more serious issues, such as:

  • Parking outside of designated lines and obstructing travel lanes
  • Parking too close to intersections
  • Blocking driveways or dumpsters
  • Occupying handicap spaces without proper credentials
  • Parking in clearly designated NO PARKING areas

Tips for Drivers:

  • Check posted signs before leaving your vehicle.
  • Use designated public lots for longer visits.
  • Consider carpooling or rideshare options during peak hours.

Thank you for your continued support in making our City a better place to live, work and visit
